Unveiling an Bizarre Steam Demo: Guiding a Poop in a Mission to Reach the Toilet
Steam Next Fest is now live, and gamers have found plenty of engaging indie games. However, one catches the eye for its unconventional concept. Named Unko Technica, this retro-inspired platformer features a character that is literally a turd striving to make its way to a toilet. As a fun fact, "Unko" translates to "poop."
How you interact is simple: just use a one button to leap. Throughout 150 stages, you'll face boss fights and unlock a market to buy skins for your fecal avatar.
Execute your movements precisely, as a error requires beginning again. Jump off air pockets to propel your character upward, traverse fragile ledges, and activate switches to open secret routes. Earn UN-KOINS to purchase more difficult stages as gameplay intensifies.
Graphically, the experience features eye-catching level designs and a killer soundtrack. Its minimalist art of morphing abstract forms could recall players of beloved games like Earthbound.
Although difficult to recall similar titles where you are a coiled turd, gaming frequently incorporated fecal matter. As an illustration, in Death Stranding, you can make grenades from protagonist droppings. Titles such as Palworld and Ark: Survival Evolved use dung as fertilizer. And of course, fecal references shows up a lot in the adventure The Stick of Truth.
Putting aside its humorous concept, Unko Technica has already received significant awards, such as winning at a major publisher's game competition in 2023. This trial version is ready at present on Steam, with the final release set to arrive on Steam on November 19.
