Alleged Harasser Inquired: 'Yet Suppose I Am Madeleine?'
A individual indicted with harassing Kate McCann allegedly recorded her a phone message which asked: "suppose I am Madeleine?"
Julia Wandelt, 24, who witnesses stated has consistently claimed she was the missing Madeleine McCann, and Karen Spragg are facing charges charged with stalking Kate and Gerry McCann between June 2022 and February the current year.
On Monday, the tribunal was told communication data and information recovered from phones logged Ms Wandelt repeatedly asking Madeleine's mother for a DNA test throughout the past two years.
Madeleine's case in 2007 - as a three-year-old during a family holiday in Portugal - is among the most publicized child disappearance cases and continues to be unsolved.
'I Do Not Need Money'
One voicemail, presented in court, captured Ms Wandelt saying: "I realize I'm heavy and plain like Madeleine was, but I believe what I feel."
While another instance of Ms Wandelt's recordings with Mrs McCann's voicemail stated: "Imagine there is a tiny probability that I'm her? What happens next? Is that not crucial for you?"
"I don't want money, I have a living here in Poland, I only wish to understand," she added.
The jury was advised that via emails, SMS messages and phone calls, Ms Wandelt requested a biological test, transmitted childhood photos to her phone in a attempt to display a similarity to Mrs McCann's missing daughter, and asserted to have "recollections" from a youth with the McCanns.
The investigator, an investigator with law enforcement who compiled the information, informed the court there "didn't appear to be any replies" from Mrs McCann.
Ms Wandelt also reached out to family friends of the McCanns, based on the communication logs.
On that date, the father answered a call from Ms Wandelt to his wife's phone, declaring she had "a wrong number."
That day Ms Wandelt deposited a message on Mrs McCann's voicemail declaring "I won't give up and I intend to demonstrate my position."
The court learned Mrs Spragg developed a relationship online with Ms Wandelt prior to joining her on a visit to the McCanns' property in Leicestershire in last December.
Call logs demonstrated Mrs Spragg had contacted using communication app to Mrs McCann to state the media had portrayed Ms Wandelt as "emotionally disturbed" but that she ought to be considered genuine in the months leading up to the visit to Rothley, that area, in that winter.
The court learned message exchanges between the two accused, in that autumn, discussing trying to acquire Mrs McCann's biological evidence from her trash or from silverware at a eating establishment.
"We must make a stand," Mrs Spragg told Ms Wandelt.
On the evening of the visit to their home, the defendant transmitted a message which stated: "We are sitting adjacent to the McCanns' home with our lights out like investigators. I desired to do this with Peter Andrew I never thought I would be engaged in this with the McCanns."
The proceedings ongoing.
